18-year-old captured for slaughtering, covering man in shallow grave

Eighteen-year-old John Okoli on Thursday drove policemen to Igwebuike timberland in Awara village, in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, where he and four individuals from his religion professedly killed and covered a 24-year-old man, Stanley Eluwa, in a shallow grave.

Addressing writers after the remaining parts of the killed man had been unearthed, the presume said he was a result of a flighty home.

John clarified that the posse attracted the casualty, who was a business cruiser rider, to the backwoods and slaughtered him with a bar in the wake of grabbing his bike.

The young person stated, "We were three – Davido and Stone and I. We requesting that he assume us to this position (timberland). It was Davido who hit him with the bar. We covered him here.

"I am 18 years of age, however my folks didn't prepare me by any stretch of the imagination. I am a result of an untrustworthy home. I lament my activity. I didn't get any cash from the offer of the bike. Davido took the cash; he said he was going to Elele, Rivers State, to begin another life. I don't know the amount he sold the bike."

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Andrew Enwerem, a Superintendent of Police, said John and four others, who had a place with the Iceland religion, attracted the casualty to the backwoods on October 5.

Enwerem said when Eluwa did not return home, his relatives announced the issue at the Ohaji Police Division.

The police representative said John was captured on October 24 for another instance of taking an intensifier from the New Life Bible Church, Awara.

John, as per Enwerem, over the span of cross examination admitted that his group killed and covered Eluwa in the woods.

"This is an instance of burglary and murder. This man, who cases to be 18 years of age and his group individuals, victimized and killed one Stanley Eluwa on October 5.

"He was captured on October 24 for taking an enhancer from the New Life Bible Church. Amid cross examination, he admitted to the murder case. Today, (Thursday) he drove the police and the relatives of the killed man to the timberland where they killed and covered the casualty in a shallow grave.

"The Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, has proclaimed war on cultism. The CP trusts that cultism is the mother of all violations. We are getting the outcomes and the CP is conveying new plans to the table to ensure that cultism is tossed out of the state.

"The suspect and others on the run have a place with the Iceland Confraternity, which has been destroying destruction on the state.

"We are trailing the escaping pack individuals. There is a progressing operation in the state against cultism," Enwerem included.
