An All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship applicant in Ekiti State, Bayo Babalotin, has given a record of how he barely avoided being killed by shooters on Tuesday evening.

He told columnists in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday that the assault occurred at around 6.30 p.m. on the edges of Erio-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area, not a long way from a police checkpoint.

Mr. Babalotin said he was making a trip to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in his Nissan Pathfinder SUV when three furnished men rose up out of the shrub and opened fire on him.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Alberto Adeyemi, who affirmed the assault on the government official, said it was a theft assault. He said cops were activated to the range while the thieves fled.
