Jadon Sancho review a 'failure', says England under-17 supervisor Steve Cooper


England Under-17 director Steve Cooper says Borussia Dortmund's choice to review Jadon Sancho from the World Cup in India is a "mistake".

The German club were hesitant to permit the Manchester City graduate to play in the competition however he got together with Cooper's squad to play in the gathering stage.

Sancho, who moved to Dortmund from City in the mid year, inspired scoring three times and helping two objectives as England won every one of the three gathering recreations.

The 17-year-old will miss the knockout stages beginning with Tuesday's last-16 tie against Japan.

Cooper stated: "Jadon (Sancho) adores playing for England and this group specifically so it's pitiful to see him go.

"It's a mistake for him since he particularly making the most of his opportunity in India and savored the opportunity to play in a World Cup.

"I can just envision Dortmund need him back to play in their first group at the end of the week and I expect he will begin for them, since I can't think about a motivation behind why you would remove a player from a World Cup."

Sancho flew straight to Cyprus on Sunday where he is relied upon to highlight for Dortmund on Tuesday in their UEFA Youth League bunch diversion against APOEL Nicosia.

The youngster isn't qualified to play in the Champions League for the senior group in the wake of being avoided from their squad for the opposition.
