INTRODUCTION
In our day-to-day operations, people do their work with the intention of attaining success in life. Once success comes in, those in the world say luck befell them, while the Christians say a blessing came their way. Both are correct indeed.
However, the root of such luck or blessing is what is known as:
FAVOR; favor from God, and from man. Without this favor one's life can be stagnant and meaningless.
Without this favor, you will never move forward, you will never prosper; you will never find love from others and even from yourself. The end result is frustration and death of all kinds- spiritual, physical, financial, professional, marital etc).
When the door of favor opens for you; you live your life as if nothing is impossible to achieve in fact, if care is not taken you might think that others are lazy and non-achievers. I have experienced such favor many times over, and one such experience was when i was sent as part a mission to start a church in a foreign country. It was favor that paved the way for us. I went to one of the local council offices where i did not know anyone in fact that was the first time I ever went there. The Secretary who was to attend to me left her seat briefly before I got there. Just as I was looking around in the empty office for who to talk to, immediately, a young man came out of one of the offices and asked me what i had come for. I explained myself to him and correctly guessed the country of origin from my accent.
Of course, I confirmed to him. He got the documents from me, arranged them properly in a file and took them to the boss. I was immediately invited in for a brief interview and the young man, who i later discovered was the Finance Councilor of the council, told the boss that he knew me and attested to my character.
This is an example of what favor can do; it makes the promises of God come to pass with ease. It is therefore very important to understand favor and the power behind it.
THE POWER OF FAVOR
"Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all them that looked upon her."
Esther 2:15
This scripture refers to Esther who had been chosen as one of the most beautiful girls of her time. However, her beauty alone was not enough to make her Queen. She had 'favor' working for her, and it made her the most suitable candidate for the position of Queen, in the eyes of all that beheld her.
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." Luke 2:52
The above scripture is even more interesting; Jesus the Son of God, part of the Holy Trinity, also had favor with God and even man.
The two scripture above show that everyone, regardless of their status in life, requires favor. We need favor to make life worth living in all areas of life, whether spiritual, physical, financial, academic or martial or otherwise. Most stresses, failures and frustrations people encounter in life could have been averted if favor was really involved.
Favor is one of the things needed to make life worth living. Though many talk and pray about it, the issue is, do they actually understand what they are talking or praying about!
