The spouse of the tribe head of Obong in the Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Naomi Jumbo, has recovered her opportunity after N2.5m emancipate was paid to her kidnappers .
Naomi was abducted by five unidentified shooters close to their royal residence at Ibio Edem Urua.
A family source told our reporter on Thursday that the ruler paid N2.5m to free his significant other "after much transaction."
The source said the criminals blindfolded the casualty before taking her from their fort.
She was said to have been left close Iwukem town, which is around 10 minutes drive to the royal residence at Ibio Edem Urua.
It was learnt that the hooligans called the ruler, Chief Tuesday Jumbo, to pick his significant other from where they had taken her to.
The lady was said to have been taken to an undisclosed healing facility for medicinal consideration.
"They dumped her at Iwukem town at around 7pm on Wednesday. The spouse was promptly cautioned to lift her up from the place," the source said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Bala Elkana, who affirmed Naomi's discharge, said the police didn't know about the installment of any cash to the gangsters.
As indicated by him, the police have the suspects in their guardianship.
He stated, "I am not mindful of any payoff; we don't consult with hijackers. We have every one of the suspects in our guardianship."
In the mean time, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Muazu Zubairu, has migrated the charge's team unit to Etim Ekpo, as he guaranteed when he went to the ruler.
He encouraged the common society to work in close joint effort with the police to free Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun LGAs of clique individuals and hijackers.
