Human trafficking, a major threat — Mrs Eki Igbinedion

Former First Lady of Edo State and founder of anti-human trafficking group, Idia Renaissance, Mrs Eki Igbinedion, has portrayed trafficking in people as a major societal issue demanding that many individuals under-assessed the size of the threat when she began the battle numerous years back.

Mrs. Igbinedion talked with writers, end of the week, in Benin, while meeting no less than 150 vagrants drawn from some shelter homes in Benin in the wake of denoting the fourth commemoration of Kada silver screen in the city.

She communicated certainty that the Task Force set up by Edo State government against human trafficking would deflect traffickers from the illegal exchange even as she said that more grounds still should be secured by the state government in the battle against the social danger.

She stated: "What is going on now is something we have dependably discussed when we were out there crusading against human trafficking. Individuals thought it was a joke and even today individuals still don't trust that human trafficking is a colossal society issue especially in Edo State.
