Man imprisoned after rhino horns and elephant tusks are found with him

Abbas Allawi, 52, was captured when officers from the Metropolitan police's natural life wrongdoing unit looked through his home in Gisburne Way, Watford, on 19 October a year ago.

The Control of Trade in Endangered Species (Enforcement) Regulations 1997 make it illicit to offer jeopardized species and their parts in the UK, including unworked rhino horns and elephant ivory.

Subside Nugent, of the Crown Prosecution Service, stated: "Allawi remained to make noteworthy wholes exchanging ivory and tusks, regardless of knowing it was illicit.
