Three suspects were captured on Wednesday by the Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for tranquilize trafficking.
Two suspects: John Ifechukwu and Victor Anadu were caught at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja while Omotayo Anifowoshe was captured at Lagos Airport.
They supposedly gulped 65 and 54 wraps of substances to disguise the medication.
Representative for the NDLEA, Jonah Achemah, affirming their capture said a 37-year-old lady, Omotayo Anifowoshe, was captured at the nearby wing of the Lagos airplane terminal with 3.0 kilograms of ephedrine and 1.9kg of cocaine.
Achemah stated, "Ifechukwu flew in from Lagos and was blocked at the airplane terminal in Abuja. He discharged 65 wraps of substances weighing 864 grams out of which just a single wrap tried positive for methamphetamine. He was en route to Indonesia.
"Anadu was caught on his approach to Indonesia. He discharged 54 wraps weighing 1,073.4 kilograms of associated substances out with which 700 grams tried positive for methamphetamine. The staying 373.4 grams did not test positive for any known medication.
"Anifowoshe, 37, an indigene of Epe, Lagos State, was captured minutes in the wake of arriving in Lagos and was to associate her flight to South Africa through an alternate route connecting the neighborhood airplane terminal to the universal air terminal, after effectively boycotting security screening point.
"She was caught with two major packs containing 3kgs of Ephedrine and 1.9kgs of Cocaine base. The medications were hidden in the bogus base of the packs. She admitted that the gear was given to her by her life partner at whose occasion was the outing."
