ASUP initiate across the country, uncertain strike today

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, said it will start an "aggregate and far reaching inconclusive" strike on Monday because of the government's inability to satisfy the remarkable assertion made with the union.

As indicated by the union president, there was a meeting between the union and service of work on October 16 with a consent to build up an update of comprehension to determine the issues.

"We were told by the elected service of work that an update of comprehension will be given, however we've not gotten one till date and that is the reason our individuals say there is no reality in favor of the legislature."

Mr. Dutse said another meeting with the government has been booked for Wednesday, November 15.

"Every single scholarly action will be suspended amid the strike," he said.

Endeavors to get a response from the Ministry of Labor on the strike were unsuccessful. Its representative, Samuel Olowookere, did not react to calls and instant messages sent to him.
