FCT High Court on Wednesday requested the remand of one Mathew Ankyoor, 37, in jail for purportedly beating his eight-month pregnant spouse to death.
The judge, Justice Peter Affen, suspended the case until November 16 for the becoming aware of safeguard application recorded by the respondent's guidance, Mr. Ocheme Adama.
"Movement for safeguard is thus settled for hearing on Nov. 16. Then, the respondent might be remanded in Kuje Prison pending the hearing and assurance of the movement for safeguard," he said.
Prior, the Prosecuting Counsel, Mr. Donatus Abah, told the court that the respondent conferred the offense on June 5, at Lugbe town, Abuja.
Abah said that the respondent beat up his better half, Doosur Ankyoor, who was conveying 8-month pregnancy to death.
He said the respondent beat her severally prompting her demise and that of the unborn kid.
The prosecutor said the offense repudiated Sections 221, 235 and 236 of the Penal Code. Segment 235 manages keeping the kid from being conceived, and 236 causing the passing of an unborn kid.
Ankyoor, be that as it may, argued not liable to the charge.
